Class 9th Syllabus of English Language and Literature 2016-17
CBSE has updated the latest syllabus for the session 2016-17. Here, we are presenting the English Language and Literature (Code No. 184) Class 9th syllabus.
The syllabus of this session is much like the previous session. There is no major change made by CBSE.
Total marks of question paper will be 70. Section wise weightage is given below:
• Reading Skills: 20 marks
• Writing and Grammar: 25 marks
• Literature textbook and Novel (Long Reading Text): 25 marks
Assessment of Speaking and Listening (ASL) will be conducted of 20 marks. Adding this, total marks of the exam is of 90 marks.
Open Text Book Assessment (OTBA) with 1-2 long answer will come in SA II of 10 marks.

• Moments - Supplementary Reader
Novel (Long Reading Text)
• Gulliver's Travels (unabridged) by Jonathan Swift
• Three Men in a Boat (unabridged) by Jerome K. Jerome
